The Games are designed to strengthen the bonds between the people of Asia through sport and contribute to world peace by promoting diversity.

The 2026 Asian Games will be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan from September 19 to October 4. It is the third time that the country has hosted this event, following Tokyo in 1958 and Hiroshima in 1994. It will be the largest ever Asian Games with 41 events involving more than 10,000 athletes from 45 countries and territories, and will feature a wide range of sports, including traditional Asian games, such as kabaddi and sepak takraw, along with Olympic sports like swimming and athletics.

Athletes at the Games will also benefit from Canon’s extensive imaging expertise and technological innovation that has helped to advance the photographic and digital imaging industries.

Esports will continue to be a part of the Asian Games at Aichi-Nagoya, with 11 titles confirmed by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) for this edition. This is an increase of four over Hangzhou 2023, and includes a number of contested medal events for the first time. The OCA’s strategic selection of titles reflects current market dynamics and the rigorous broadcasting protocols required by high-stakes international sporting events.
