US Open Schedule and Off-Court Events in New York

The US Open schedule is packed with compelling matches and fun off-court events. Jannik Sinner, Aryna Sabalenka, Carlos Alcaraz and Coco Gauff are among the top names in action at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens this year. The tournament begins the final Monday of August and runs through Labor Day, giving fans ample opportunities to see the world’s best players compete.

New York City weather can range from hot and humid to chilly and cool, so be sure to dress appropriately. A hat, sunscreen and a light jacket are essential items to bring along, even for day matches in the outer courts.

A ground-pass ticket is a great option for those who don’t plan to attend every match, or want to bounce from one court to the next as conditions change throughout the tournament. The passes give access to the Louis Armstrong Stadium, grandstand and outer courts. For the first week, you can also access Arthur Ashe Stadium by securing tickets to the qualifying matches that start Aug. 18.

Getting to Flushing Meadows can be challenging, especially on busy days. The simplest and quickest way from Manhattan is to take the No. 7 train to the Mets-Willets Point station. Parking can also be a challenge, and ride-share services like Uber and Lyft may charge steep surge prices during the tournament. At the Kimpton Theta Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, Bar Sprezzatura streams all matches of the tournament and serves its signature Honey Deuce cocktails (Grey Goose vodka, lemon juice and raspberry liqueur) in official U.S. Open cups from now through Sept. 7. The hotel’s Grand Slam Getaway package, available during the finals weekend of Sept. 6-7, includes one Honey Deuce and table tennis access.
