World Series Highlights

The World Series has long been considered the pinnacle of baseball competition. It invokes pride, joy, sorrow, and a myriad of emotions from players and fans alike. It has also produced some of the most memorable moments in the sport’s history.

From a wild comeback to a record breaking rookie, the 2023 World Series was chock-full of iconic moments. In the final game, the Washington Nationals broke a 33-year franchise drought by defeating the Atlanta Braves and claiming their first World Series win in over 30 years.

This might be one of the most recognizable home run highlights in World Series history. The scene is instantly recognizable – the crowd goes crazy as Joe Carter rounds the bases after a walk off home run in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series against the Boston Red Sox. It is widely considered as one of the greatest moments in the sport’s history and Blue Jays radio announcer Tom Cheek’s famous call of “Touch ’em all, Joe! You’ll never hit a bigger homer in your life!” is etched in baseball lore.

After blowing a five-run lead in the fifth inning, Giancarlo Stanton restored order with a high sacrifice fly to put the Yankees back on top in Game 5. The move was just as impactful as his aforementioned two-run homer off Dodgers starter Jack Flaherty in the same inning.
