US Open 2025 is set to be the most exciting tournament in recent years. The final Grand Slam of the year starts this Sunday, August 24 and will run through September 7. The main draw will extend to 15 days for the first time in the tournament’s history, with the first round being spread across three days instead of two. But other than the change to start on a Sunday, all other rounds will follow the same two-week schedule.
Nicole Kankam, the managing director of pro tennis marketing and entertainment for the USTA, joined “Mornings on 1” to discuss the changes. She shared with us more details about the 2025 US Open and what to expect when it comes to ticketing, scheduling and much more.
The USTA will continue to do a great job of promoting the event and selling tickets. It is the only major sports tournament that uses a mobile ticketing app, which is incredibly user friendly and helpful. Whether you’re buying day or night tickets, the USTA has made it very easy to find the best seats for your needs (be sure to try the map view, sort options in different ways and use multiple browser tabs to compare). This is also where you can see any standard (non-resale) tickets that may still be available (shown as blue dots on the detailed seat maps for each session). Keep in mind NYC law prohibits the reselling of ticket “scalping” within 1500 feet of the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
